This blog is a way of sharing the information and resources that have helped me to recover my son Roo from an Autism Spectrum Disorder. What I have learned is to view our symptoms as the results of underlying biological cause, which can be identified and healed. I say "our symptoms" because I also have a neuro-immune disorder called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis.

And, of course, I am not a doctor (although I have been known to impersonate one while doing imaginative play with my son)- this is just our story and information that has been helpful or interesting to us. I hope it is helpful and interesting to you!

Online Resources Including Webinars and Podcasts

I have been really amazed by how many really great, free resources there are online for parents like me trying to figure out our kids' issues and how to help them.  A lot of my research has involved searching for studies, scanning articles, and following clues in print but I have found that audio and video presentations (such as podcasts and webinars) have been an invaluable tool for putting the pieces together into a coherent picture, and for learning some of the more complex info out there.

GENERAL HEALTH

Epidemic Answers  this site has a long list of webinars on a wide variety of topics.  The groups itself, Epidemic Answers, aims to provide information about the underlying causes of the worsening health of American children rather than the more common symptom management approach seen in mainstream medicine.

The Great Plains Laboratory Webinar Library

The Ancestral Health Society also presents webinars that provide a foundation for understanding human health and wellness and how modern living is affecting our bodies and creating diseases.

One Minute Medical School

The New York Academy of Sciences

MEDICAL JOURNALS ONLINE

Podcasts from the journal "Gut" on a wide range of topics in gastroenterology.

AUTISM

The Autism Research Institute has made available recordings of presentations from previous conferences, which is a wealth of knowledge.

Webinars available on the TACA (Talk About Curing Autism) website cover a wide range of topics, from how to implement special diets to help with education (including homeschooling and getting into college), medical topics such as seizures, and more.

AutismOne  puts on a yearly conference and has many resources available on their site.

This is a collection of videos by Julie Matthews, who is a nutritionist specializing in dietary intervention for autism and ADHD.

VACCINATIONS

The following are webinars that have caught my attention but that I have not yet listened to:

Vaccine Information Webinars from Medical Voices Vaccine Information Center

The list of webinars available here covers a wide variety of vaccine-related topics, from writing waivers, to political issues around vaccination programs, to healing from vaccine injuries, to issues with specific adjuvants and the use of human fetal cell lines in vaccine production.  There are also some very well know and highly respected people giving these webinars including Dr Mayer Eisenstein MD, JD, MPH, Anne Dachel, Sheri Tenpenny DO, Russel Blaylock MD (neurosurgeon), and Renee Tocco, DC.  There is even a webinar being given in Spanish!
